ESSENTIALS ROLES - Street cleaners

Street Cleaners. Neighbourhood Services NEAT (Neighbourhood Environmental Action Team) provides a valuable service to the community by keeping the streets and public areas in towns and villages throughout Northumberland free of litter, detritus, graffiti fly posting and fly tipping.

Teams also carry out regular street washing and during periods of inclement weather teams assist with flood defense work, snow clearing and gritting services.

Teams provide information on service provision to members of the public and report incidents of fly tipping and anti social behaviour to the Environmental Enforcement Officers for action.

If you like working outdoors as part of a team, meeting people and helping keep the streets and public areas clean and safe then street cleaning could be the job for you. Full training and a uniform will be provided.
